About The Role

One of our sister companies in the NFT space requires assistance in the development of custom analytical datasets, models and reports as part of market research activities to inform product development. This role would be well suited to a data analyst with experience analyzing blockchain and token holder data so as to make sense of trends across NFT projects.

Role specifics: The role will be on a contract basis at an hourly rate reporting through to the Director of Chetty Analytics. Time required will be 5-10 hours to per week to begin with and rising as the project progresses in its maturity.

You will also be able to have fun and experiment with innovative niches of the market such as using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to generate unique works of art.

Primary roles and responsibilities:

  • Analyze data and present reports from industry-standard sources such Nansen, Token Terminal, Messari, Delphi Digital and Dune Analytics.
  • Develop custom data pipelines from various public blockchain data sources such as Coinmarketcap, Etherscan, Ethplorer and Bloxy.
  • Warehouse data from blockchain explorers in SQL databases and develop custom metrics to support further downstream analysis.
  • Analyze and rate blockchain projects based on various metrics such as token holder wealth distribution, network value to transaction (NVT) ratio, protocol revenue and daily change in active wallet addresses.
  • Draft Google Slides presentations outlining findings and showcasing relevant trends to inform project direction.
  • Support the project CEO with ad-hoc analysis, custom report development and highlighting actionable insights from aforementioned metrics.
  • Support rest of team with analysis for project idea submissions.

Mandatory skills:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Excel, specifically, working knowledge of VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS and INDEX MATCH.
  • Well-developed REST, JSON & XML API investigation and integration skills using tools such as Google ImportJSON, Postman and Pandas.
  • Well-rounded ETL and data preparation skills with proven experience parsing and preparing API data into standardized database schemas and tables.
  • Working knowledge of SQL (joins, unions, tables). Experience working with relational databases, query development and database table validation checks (verifying record counts and values for consistency with data source).
  • Data visualization experience with Tableau Desktop (preferred) or Microsoft PowerBI.
  • Proven critical thinking skills and outstanding problem-solving skills, ability to think on your feet and pre-empt / resolve issues before they arise.
  • A self-starter who is proactive with demonstrated time management skills and the ability to be responsive and flexible in line with changing business needs, particularly with regards to ad-hoc and bespoke analysis.
  • A passion for blockchain and web3 technology, particularly from the perspective of enabling decentralized creator economies.

Desirable / Optional Skills and Experience

  • Automating repetitive Google Sheet functions via Google Apps Script
  • Scraping data from websites
  • Conducting social media sentiment analysis
  • Graph Query Language and graph databases such as Neo4J, Amazon Neptune or Azure Cosmos DB
  • NoSQL, PostgreSQL or Apache SparkSQL
  • Experience with next-generation ETL tools such as Alteryx or Databricks
  • Well-developed Python skills either in machine learning or computer programming
  • Experience with deep learning and neural networks via PyTorch highly desirable
  • Coding and testing smart contracts with Solidity and Truffle
  • Analyzing GitHub repositories and making sense of Solidity functions and calls
  • Experience with common Javascript frameworks used by blockchain projects such as AngularJS, React, web3.js and NodeJS
  • Fundamental knowledge of how blockchain consensus mechanisms work
  • Legal background and understanding of how license agreements operate, particularly open source licensing frameworks such as Creative Commons
